An energized jetstream with strong winds just above the surface (known has a low level jet) allowed strong winds to mix down to the suface last night. This in combination with a deepening area of low pressure allowed winds to gust up to 40-60 mph last night out of the south. At 11 PM last night, temperatures were 63 to 70!
