This blog is moving. Please visit us at our new home - just as easy to remember - www.weathernewengland.com.
All the items from here have been packed up - and we’re already posting at our new home.
So update that bookmark!

5pm update - Yup, it’s snowing
Posted by Ted McEnroe December 19, 2008 at 5:23 pm
Well, you all did a good job of listening and staying off the roads this afternoon - as a result, the plows are doing a better job of keeping up. Judging from the view in the NECN parking lot, there’s not much desire to be driving anyway.
So since you’re at home, maybe it’s a chance to wander around the web, or go out and take some photos, and so on. Feel free to send them off to Sky Scenes, and if you want to see what others are saying about the storm, our pal Ken George at WBUR started a twitter hashtag #snow1219. You can add your tweets to the stream (if you have a twitter account), and read what others are doing.
Tim and Joe are working their tails off - but would love to hear from you… Feel free to post your observations here.
Following the numbers (for outages)
Posted by Ted McEnroe December 14, 2008 at 8:59 am
if you are wondering about the progress being made in getting the hundreds of thousands of people without power back on line - a number of the utilities in New England have those lists in map or list form on their websites. Here are some of the major utilities’ pages. (All are updated pages, with the exception of Public Service of New Hampshire, which is a regularly updated news release list on their site.)

The tips are everywhere - but it’s not a bad idea to review them quickly. Here’s the reminders from the state of Maine on how to deal with things if you or others you know are stuck without power… because things won’t be totally back to normal any time soon.
These tips are from the State of Maine:

Severe thunderstorms for some…Wednesday brings a fall feel
Posted by Matt Noyes September 9, 2008 at 10:49 am
It looks as though the severe weather that was recurring this summer will continue into the meteorological fall. A transition between summer air and fall air is marked by thunderstorms capable of strong, damaging winds, large hailstones, frequent cloud-to-ground lightning and torrential rain that will produce localized flash flooding.
FAIR WEATHER BEGINS THE WEEK, BUT WINDS WILL KICK UP TUESDAY AHEAD OF POTENTIALLY DAMAGING STORMS FOR SOME
Posted by Matt Noyes September 8, 2008 at 1:16 pm
Great weather for our Monday, but an approaching cold front will kick up the winds…and perhaps some thunderstorms…on Tuesday! Plus, a look at Hurricane Ike.
