Weekly Weather Word contest - New word - Week of November 17, 2008

Posted by Matt Noyes November 17, 2008 at 10:48 am

WOW! We’ve been very fortunate to receive some terrific donations lately to the prize package for the Weekly Weather Word contest. The contest has been going over 5 years now, and continues to bring a fun challenge for kids and adults to come up with your best, most creative, weather-related sentence using the word of the week, and enter the weekly contest! Our multi-person panel of judges picks the favorite sentence (by democratic vote, of course!), and this week the pressure is on - for authors and judges, alike, because the prize package is terrific!

Twig Flowers, with two locations in Boston - on Dartmouth Street and Tremont Street - has donated a generous 100 dollar gift certificate for the winner to enjoy. Twig delivers to most locations in Massachusetts, and can be found on the web at www.twigboston.com. Orders can be placed online!

Thanks to Twig Flowers…and good luck to our contest participants!

The wagering weatherman resented the viewer’s remarks but the viewer would parry the weatherman’s riposte with such excellence that the debauched weatherman felt overwhelmed in defeat.

I’ll take the flowers minus the twigs. On second thought keep the flowers and send me the prize pack I won for the word umpteen….please!

    This is my weatherword sentence:

The doe stood still and silent at the edge of the frost covered meadow helpless to parry the steely grey clouds, laden with snow, heralding the inevitable approach of winter.

Got something to say?
