Warming to end out the summer season

Well, this day had to come. What a day it will be. Absolutely gorgeous weather from the morning into the afternoon with temps warming into the 70’s. Be aware that clouds will be on the increase along with a cold front this afternoon. Skies will be mostly cloudy by sunset. As the clouds thicken, look for a few sprinkles or drizzle to develop. These clouds will stick around into Monday, as winds shift to the Northeast. Cooler and Cloudy conditions can be expected for our first day of fall. The Autumnal equinox is officially at 11:44 AM. High pressure from Canada will provide the chill, but also the dry air to erode the cloud cover and allow for plenty of beautiful into next week! More details inside.
End of Summertime Blues

This is such a bittersweet time of year for me. I live for summer. All year it what I dream plan for. As I get older it seems to move faster and faster. In it’s wake is regret for things I did not get a chance to do in that oh so precious 3-month window. It is the beach, the music, the energy, the festivals, the barbecues, the seafood and cold beer. You will never hear me complain about heat and humidity. It is just that much farther away from winter! I embrace and love all the seasons. But summer just has so much to offer. But alas, football is here. The weather is perfect. Autumn is just such a classic season for New England…after all, People flock from around the country just to view our foliage. I never really understood this, because if they just wait a few weeks, they will see the leaves change in their own backyards…Anyway, as beautiful as Fall is, it still carries a feeling of impending doom to me. Look around, the tomatoes are gone, soon we will see the corn harvested, leaves turning brown and covering what once was…not long ago..a perfectly lush green lawn. Leaving behind just bare naked limbs which is all we will be seeing for the next several months. The season of death is upon us. Soon we will be talking killing frosts and wind chill factors. The days are short, the night is long. Winter at NECN is a snow accumulation map. You get the idea. As much as I love the changing of the seasons, saying goodbye to my good friend Summer is never easy. A big salute you Summer. It was great while you lasted. I am already looking forward to see you again.
